Cyclo Cross

The club promotes a cyclocross race in November for both senior and junior members.  The races are open to all, from the more serious rider down to the inexperienced novice, who will always find someone of a similar level to ride against, even if you are several laps down!  We believe that cyclocross is a great way to introduce boys and girls to the sport of cycling. You can ride on any bike and no previous experience is required to join in the fun, although a MTB or ‘cross bike with knobbly tyres is best.  Junior races are organised in age groups with many prize awards.  Why not turn up and give it a try?  For more information about cyclocross see: here

Oxonian Cyclocross race Round 8 within the Wessex Cyclocross League was held on November 6th 2016 at Brookes Sport Botley, Harcourt Hill, Oxford.

A full report has been posted on the League’s website and is available here.  And results are available here.

Prizes:

Prizes for the first three placed riders in each category were given out immediately following each race on the day – congratulations to all those podium placed riders.  Further prizes for places beyond the first three are now available for the following additional riders listed by category below, in line with Wessex league policy.  Please note that it is the responsibility of the competitors to arrange collection of prizes within 14 days. Minor place prize money will be paid by bank transfer, or cheque if preferred. We are also grateful to Brookes University Sport and the Ground Staff at the venue for their consistent support and involvement over the past several months in preparation for the 6th Nov.
