Club Runs

We organise a number of social club rides on a Saturday morning, with groups starting from Stonesfield and Eynsham.  New riders are always welcome, and you do not need to be a member to take part.

We usually have two or three groups starting from Stonesfield at 9:00am in the summer (when on BST) and 9:30am in the winter, offering a range of speeds between about 15mph and 19mph, but very much dependent on terrain.  Rides start from the green opposite the White Horse Inn (map).

A slower group runs from Eynsham, leaving at 9:15am, and aiming for 12-14mph.  Rides start from outside the Red Lion (map).

All rides include a cafe stop at 11:30, before taking a more direct route back, usually returning to the start between 1pm and 2pm.

Rides are open to all, and you're welcome to just turn up at the start - please introduce yourself to the ride leader.

Details of which groups are running, destinations and ride leaders are posted to our Oxonian Facebook page on Thursday.

All groups operate a no drop policy, but if you're unsure about which group would be most suitable, please contact Paul Warren or ask on Facebook.

Our Sunday ride starts from outside the Beeline Bike shop on Cowley Road in Oxford.  The ride starts at 9am, and distance is usually about 60 miles at a pace of 16-19 mph (depending on the route and season) with a coffee / tea stop and home to Oxford for around 1.00 to 1.30pm.  The ride runs most weeks, but you may like to email  David Haydon to check.

A group ride out on Tuesday and Thursday mornings led by Club Captain Gerry Tillson. Coffee stops are often to the venues published in the "Oxfordshire Cyclist" but depending on weather and wind direction.

These are very social rides and the meeting point and coffee stop are published the evening beforehand on the Club Facebook page

You agree to take part in the club’s activities entirely at your own risk and without any liability whatever on the part of Oxonian Cycling Club, its' officials or members, in respect of loss, injury or damage suffered, however caused.

Please introduce yourself to the ride leader before setting off.
